Job Description

We are currently seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor who will play a key role in the successful delivery of instructions and projects from a range of clients including commercial properties, offices, retail, industrial and housing providers.

Day-to-day duties will include but not limited to:

• Survey and Report writing for the full range of typical Professional Building Surveying Services including TDD, Dilapidations, Building Surveys, BRCA’s and PPM’s
• Carrying out both Professional and Project based work
• Line management of staff to include coaching and motivating newly Chartered Surveyors
• Delivering Project Work which can typically range from £50k to £5 million where you will perform the role of Designer, Contract Administrator, Project Manager or an Employers Agent
• Responsible for managing and growing Key Client Accounts
• Contribute towards the Training Academy to include supporting, mentoring, training and guiding junior members of staff through their journey
• Establishing client briefs and fully involved in and/or manage others to produce drawings, specifications and leading on the tender process to meet client requirements

Experience & Skills Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (min 2.1 or equivalent) in Building Surveying/Quantity Surveying
• RICS Accredited
• Project Management Qualified (APM affiliation / Prince 2)
• Good pre and post contract experience
• Demonstrable knowledge in winning new work, growing client relationships and developing business opportunities with clients including landlords, investors and developers
• Experience of managing a team ranging from Graduate Level through to Chartered
• Excellent working knowledge of JCT contracts and experience of acting in the capacity of Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent
• Willing to travel across the UK as needed to meet Client requirements and pursue opportunities
